What I have to offer?

Through devout dedication for service, I began practicing bodywork in 2004.  This connection of hands to heart opened me to Tibetan Cranial.  Amazed by the simplicity and effectiveness of this brilliant work, I entered into a Tibetan Cranial Apprentice in 2006.

Having experienced exactly what I had been searching for, I grew with this work which I now hold with great admiration.

The privilege of studying directly with Master Lineage Holder Shar Lee, earned me the confidence and skill to be released from my apprenticeship as a practitioner in September of 2009.  The joy I experience through practicing has motivated me to continue working with our Master Lineage holder for over 15 years.

I am among a small group of people who hold and honor the power of this work and am privileged to witness its incredible results.

What is Tibetan Cranial?

Tibetan Cranial is a bodywork practice conducted through perception of, and attention to, pulses.   This ancient tradition, supports the body’s capacity for self-healing. Tibetan Cranial carries the potential for transformation on multiple levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.  Through this amazing work, many people have experienced profound breakthroughs in many areas of their lives.

The origin of Tibetan Cranial may be traced deep into the Himalayan highlands some 3,000 years ago. Taught directly from teacher to apprentice through spoken instruction. Tibetan Cranial is much more than physical bodywork; rather, it is considered a sacred knowledge connected with the practice of Buddhism.

This work was traditionally known by Tibetan people as Thodba Gochalktangba, which translates most accurately in English to skull pain clearing.  As an oral tradition it has been passed down through generations of Buddhist monks.

For the benefit of all sentient beings, on August 27, 2016, Tibetan Cranial was profoundly honored to be recognized as a part of the Kagyu lineage by His Holiness Ngawang Tenzin Rinpoche. H. H. Nagwang Tenzin is a high reincarnation of the Drukpa Kagyu Lineage of Buddhism in Bhutan where he is regarded as one of the most revered teachers of this lineage.

What does the session looks like ?

When people come in for a Tibetan Cranial session it is best if they wear loose fitting cloths, soft yoga style or meditation style pants are preferable.  We offer the work with integrity to tradition thus we use the same firm supportive table which our Master Lineage teacher uses.

We then read a complex series of pulses on the head.  Sessions usually last about an hour.  Tibetan Cranial does not promise to heal or cure anything, though people who have experienced the work typically report significant results as well as a very heightened sense of well-being.

After receiving a session people have reported relief from many symptoms including headaches; migraines; back and neck pain; whiplash; head injury; concussion; traumatic brain injury (TBI); stress-related conditions; anxiety; depression; Multiple Sclerosis; Parkinson’s; trigeminal neuralgia; tremors; seizures; other nervous system disorders; TMJ pain and other jaw-related issues; tinnitus/ringing of the ears; sleep disorders; sinus problems; hormone imbalances; autism; chronic pain; connective tissue disorders; and more.  People often can’t explain or conceptualize what happens on the table but report that they have experienced profound shifts on more than just a physical level.

“What people say about me”
— Robert Helliesen
  • During the session I was cocooned with blankets and felt secure as firm pressure was applied to my neck and later intra orally. Robert worked with purpose and with consistent and unwavering groundedness that allowed me to stay calm in spite of the fact that intellectually it seemed strange how deep I could feel pressure inside my throat.

After the session was finished I noticed I had been more deeply submerged in a sea of blankets as he placed my neck in an extremely therapeutic stretch while he left the room. Those minutes alone in the room were nice and I could feel my body integrate all the new information.

I felt good after the session, but it wasn’t until a week later that I felt the transformation take place. The deep intra oral work was the missing puzzle piece in the long standing neck and back pain I had been experiencing all my life.

As I thought about it I came to the understanding that this approach allowed access to my cervical vertebra in a way that none of my previous experiences with massage and chiropractic were able to treat.

In the coming days my neck pain started to disappear as my body began to stack more fluidly all the way down the line, and he only worked from the neck up! What an incredibly efficient way to treat my chronic neck and back pain.

Since I returned to St. Louis, I began weight training to strengthen my erector muscles to maintain my upright progress. Previously to my Tibetan Cranial treatment all exercise seemed precarious and had the potential for injury because everything felt out of place and I didn’t know what “right” felt like.

Thank you Robert for all your help.

  • Through Robert’s work, I have been able to speed up the orthodontic work I have had to do as an adult. After each session with Robert, I have a greater sense of wellness and balance in my body than I did before. As a side benefit I look younger as tightness in my cranial bones, jaw and face has been released. Tibetan Cranial has helped me to achieve other subtle improvements in my wellness that one does not know is missing until she/he gets it back.

  • After more than a week of not sleeping well and a lifetime of insomnia, I received a deep rejuvenating night of rest after my first session with Robert.  I also felt immediate relief from neck pain and shoulder tension

  • A trusted friend let me know about Robert's work. She told me that his treatments were the most effective she's encountered since her TBI, and I've found the same to be true for me. I've seen a number of practitioners of various modalities since my concussion a year ago. I feel very grateful and lucky to have been introduced to Tibetan Cranial and to be working with Robert. He's wise, intuitive, and generous. Robert's work is extremely powerful. I'd recommend it highly.
